Support for the moments that feel too big to handle alone

Hi, I’m Dr. Caitlin Gasperetti.

I am a licensed psychologist in New York who specializes in adolescent and young adult mental health (ages 14-30). I have extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, suicidality and self-harm, and borderline personality disorder.

I view therapy as a collaborative relationship, and I work to carefully balance creating a safe space for exploration while providing a supportive push to address challenging or painful issues. I draw on evidence-based techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches.

With the right support, clients often notice progress in areas such as:

  • Feeling calmer and more in control when emotions run high

  • Managing anxiety, low mood, or self-criticism with effective tools

  • Sleeping more soundly and waking with steadier energy

  • Improving communication and boundaries in relationships

  • Building confidence in who you are and what you want next

I am currently accepting new patients virtually and in person on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. I anticipate having 1–2 openings for weekly therapy beginning in December and am currently scheduling consultation calls.

FAQs

  • Our first session is a chance to slow down and talk through what’s been most difficult. We’ll review your background, clarify your goals, and begin identifying patterns that may be keeping you stuck. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of direction and a few initial tools to start using right away.

  • Yes. I see clients both in person on the Upper East Side and virtually across New York State. Many clients choose to mix in-person and telehealth sessions depending on their schedules.

  • I’m an out-of-network provider, which means clients pay at the time of session and can request partial reimbursement directly from their insurance company. I provide a monthly statement (called a “superbill”) to make that process easier.

  • Sessions are 45 minutes ($325) or 60 minutes ($435).

The first session is 45 minutes, giving us time to get to know each other and identify your goals for therapy.

A free 15-minute phone consultation is available before scheduling to help determine whether we’re a good fit.

  • Therapy length varies based on your goals. Some clients find meaningful change within a few months; others choose to continue longer-term as they navigate deeper identity work or life transitions. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy remains aligned with your needs.

  • That’s completely okay. The consultation call is a low-pressure way to explore what you’re looking for and see if my approach feels like a good fit. If not, I’ll gladly suggest other options or referrals that may better meet your needs.
